Phoenix, Arizona USA, August 1, 2002 - TLC International, home of the TLC Phoenix-600® High-Accuracy Mechanical Rectilinear/SHAPES Glass Cutter, announces participation in electronicAsia/World of Display Technology 2002 in the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center, 11-14 October (www.electronicasia.com). TLC will exhibit its second generation TLC Phoenix-600® that includes significant software and supporting hardware upgrades for appreciably improved close-tolerance singulation of laminates for X-Y or curvilinear flat panel displays. The TLC Phoenix-600® also provides highly repeatable processing of single sheet specialty thin flat glass products such as dichroic filters, heat transfer mirrors, sensors, electrochromic mirrors, electro-optical mirrors, biomed microslides/cover slips, polarizing filters, entertainment lighting gobos, and a myriad others. TLC's cutting process is quick, clean and dry (no messy oil or water), and produces clean afterbreak edge quality rarely requiring grinding/polishing. A CCD camera incorporated in TLC's proprietary rotating cutting head assembly provides on-stage measurement/inspection and quick target alignment. Utilizing a Toyo's TAP or Deep Cut carbide wheel, TLC's resulting scribes make manual breakout fast and simple. TLC welcomes manufacturers to bring substrates to Booth 7G08 for a personal demonstration of the TLC Phoenix-600®, as well as technical tips on process development techniques for producing clean afterbreak edges and high yields in rectilinear/curvilinear glass products. TLC's global presence in the specialty thin flat glass cutting industry continues its steady climb in European, Asian and North American markets, despite reports of slow high-tech sector economic recovery. For additional information, please contact Marketing Director, Maribeth V. Linden, to confirm a demonstration appointment at electronicAsia/World of Display Technology 2002 in Hong Kong.
