China International Optoelectronic Exposition (CIOE) is sponsored by the Optical Society of China (OSC), Shenzhen Herong Exhibitions Enterprise Co., Ltd (SHEE), and Wen Global Solutions (WGS).  It is the largest Optoelectronic Exposition in Asia.  CIOE has become the largest commercial optoelectronic exhibition on optical fiber communications, optical materials, optical storage devices, optoelectronic components, imaging technologies, photonics, optoelectronic display and lasers.

China represents one of the world's most dynamic markets for optoelectronics which is essential to communications and many other applications. Currently, China had a total of 169 million wire-line telephone subscribers (the largest in the world), 132 million mobile telephone subscribers, and nearly 100 million cable television subscribers. The government's aim to double these figures within 5 years will require a vast amount of new infrastructures.
